Automated Text Messaging for iPhone

While laying in bed last night Julie asked me about text messaging on the iPhone and how I liked it.  Of course it’s very user friendly and I see no problems with it.  She then asked me about automated text messages and if I used them.  You know, the standard daily text message to your wife saying “Have a good day :)”, or the weekend checkup saying “I’m almost done golfing!”.  I had never even thought about this before, but now I am.  After looking around on the internet I don’t see any software that provides this type of service, but I’m sure people are working on it.

After thinking about it for a bit, I think I can write a program to do this from a UNIX computer.  Basically it would email the phone, but the source would be off.  That is, the text wouldn’t look like it’s coming from the proper source.  Working on this part now.  Anyone else working on this?

Thanks for the idea Judge – what a good one!

Curious to see what this blogging environment has to offer and what I may offer it. Let's go. This blog will just be an on-line environment for anything: music, books, rants, sports, politics, news, you name it. Looking forward to it.

I have been working on this for some time now, but since my flux capacitor malfunctioned progress has slowed. I am also working on a program whereby I can text myself and create the appearance of receiving many fascinating texts which require an immediate response to my very fancy imaginary friends. I will igoogle a podcast of my progress post-haste.

bp – I’m beta testing my version now, and I’m looking at a public launch sometime in the early third quarter.

Shoss – That explains it. Your faulty flux capacitor must be what’s causing your iPhone to accidentally dial your contacts without your knowledge.

bp – have you considered research into the iphone sdk. I’m sure that your automated service wouldn’t be all that difficult to set up. If I had an iphone that i could try it on I might actually entertain helping you since it may help keep you out of trouble!

shoss – not sure what post-haste means…sounds lawerly. will have to google it from iphone.

    rts – good jargon!

fick – lets be serious and rid ourselves of this sarcasm. looking into the iphone sdk now and will probably be lost as soon as i run into some bullshit java errors that dont tell me a damn thing.

I wanted to let you know that I have also thought about this idea in great lengths. I am releasing the automatic text and email messaging app for iPhone and iPad around November 15th, 2011. It was not easy to come up with a solution as apple does not allow a lot of things. I think people will be pleased with the app and the various functions that are included in the auto SMS messaging and management of all events.
